The 10th edition of the Bamburi Rugby Super Series was launched at a ceremony held earlier today at the RFUEA Grounds. The event, which also doubled up as the official kit launch saw the tournament dates, ticket prices and match schedules being released too.
Speaking during the ceremony, Kenya Rugby Union Chairman Mwangi Muthee reiterated the role of this tournament in boosting the growth of the fifteens version of the game in East Africa. He went on to add that the tournament still remains a very integral part of the Kenya fifteens development agenda.
Bamburi Rugby Super Series Organizing Commmittee Chairman Aggrey Chabeda echoed Muthee’s sentiments and went on to announce the match schedule and ticket prices for the five week event which begins on Saturday 5th May, running on consecutive weekends until Saturday 2nd June.
The tournament will feature eight franchises, six from Kenya and two from Uganda. The Rhinos are the tournament’s defending champions, having defeated the Cheetahs 20-15 in sudden death during last year’s final as they won the title for a record fifth time.
