Mutomo is one of the districts identified by the Kenya Red Cross Society (KRCS) as the most affected by the current drought in Kenya. According to an appeal sent out by KRCS in January this year more than 2.5 Million Kenyans are at risk of starvation unless urgent steps are taken by concerned individuals and organizations to alleviate the situation.

Following this appeal, 5 of our colleagues, led by Job Owino Capacity Increase Projects, visited the Mutomo in the company of KRCS officials and donated food worth about KES 1 million.

About 3,500 families of Mutumo benefited from this kind gesture of Bamburi family. This is part of a KShs.5 million kitty that the company has set aside to support our brothers and sisters faced with starvation.
