THE OPPORTUNITY

The role demands a hands-on leader passionate about operational excellence, safety, and sustainability, with expertise in process optimization, quality control, and maintenance planning to drive efficiency and align performance with strategic business goals. As a champion of the BU/Division priorities in the plant, you will develop and maintain high plant performance standards in safety, sustainable industrial excellence, people development & mobilization and customer orientation. You will also develop the value of plant assets such as equipment, reserves, skills and stakeholders’ relationships.

Results-driven professional with extensive experience in plant operations, a strong background in cement manufacturing and a proven track record of leading high-performing teams in a fast-paced industrial environment. You are passionate about operational excellence, safety, and sustainability, with a deep understanding of process optimization, quality control, and maintenance planning. Your leadership style is collaborative and hands-on, with a focus on continuous improvement, cost efficiency, and aligning plant performance with strategic business goals.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

Health and Safety

  • Behave in accordance with the eleven safety rules set up by the Group and must be an example for the employees.
  • Create safe work conditions and mobilize all plant employees and on-site contractors on safety at work (behaviours and skills).
  • Ensure Health and safety regulations are applied on site and monitor non compliance.

Plant management Cycle

  • Conduct all necessary assessments and benchmarks in the framework of Advance.
  • Formulate the vision and set the priorities of the plant with the manufacturing director.
  • Define the Plant Performance Improvement Plan (PIP) with the relation manager’s support.
  • Prepare the annual plant budgets and ensure the constant follow up along the year.
  • Define investment needs, CAPEX budgets and ensure execution of related projects.
  • Prepare the plant O&HR review including the Plant Team Assessment.
  • Set the plant objectives and cascade them down to his subordinates in a stretch and coherent manner.

Quality and Customer Satisfaction

  • Establish high quality standards on a contractual mode with the marketing
  • Ensure that the products meet the quality specifications and decide to stop the deliveries in case of non conformities.
  • Develop a customer orientation culture for all plant personnel.

Industrial Excellence

  • Optimize and adapt the production process and equipment in line with PIP
  • Ensure that the production commitments in terms of volumes, deadlines and costs are respected.

People Management and Development

  • Define and implement with the BU HR Director the relevant organizational changes.
  • Elaborate the succession plan and training plan of people at all level to preserve or develop the key competencies.
  • Decide on the allocation of the personnel, their sanctions and rewards.
  • Ensure the communication and negotiation with local representatives of the personnel of the local work agreements under the HR Director’s guidance.
  • Preserve the social climate.

Stakeholder Relations

  • Represent the company in front of the local authorities and the union representatives.
  • Promote company image in the local social, economical and environmental community.
  • Ensure that the laws and regulations pertaining to the activity are respected as well as protection of the environment in compliance with Group standards.

Plant

  • Have a purposeful and practical organization for smooth working of the plant.
  • Ensure that responsibilities are well-defined by flow charts and job descriptions.
  • Have a precise, efficient and meaningful plant reporting/management information system for timely submission.
  • Ensure that the subordinate employees have the accurate objectives and performance standards

Leadership

  • Supervise directly the subordinates and to keep them motivated at all times in order to make them more productive, professional and capable of handling challenging works.
  • Pursue a participative management style.Make timely decisions.
  • Effectively delegate the responsibilities to the lowest possible level.
  • Have the appraisals of the employees and to inform them and the HR department of their weaknesses.
  • Develop a good working environment in the plant and to keep the personnel turn over low.
  • Have the plant management and production meetings regularly.
  • Always have the plant essential data available in hands in regard to plant operation and Cost.
  • Be well informed of major plant events.
  • Identify the deviations from budget and to issue necessary instructions to the concerned and to ensure appropriate counter measures have been taken.
  • Keep the top management informed as to the results achieved and to major events within the plant.
  • Adequately inform the employees regarding the company polices and future planning.

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

  • B.Sc./ M.Sc. Engineering (preferably Mechanical/Electrical/Chemical)
  • 15+ years experience in the process industry. Strong and experienced background in senior management including Technical, Process and Project management understanding.

COMPETENCIES

  1. Must have a proven track record of good leadership, decision making & problem solving.
  2. Must have good interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
  3. Ability to negotiate and finalize the contracts.
  4. Must have excellent analytical / technical approach.
  5. Ability to develop, establish & implement the monitoring system.
  6. Be willing to accept challenges.
  7. Ability to develop a friendly & congenial environment.
  8. Be an innovative, creative & research minded person.
  9. Ability to handle multiple tasks in an organized and timely manner.
  10. English Language upper intermediate level. Must be able to express him during meetings with native or foreign English speakers.
  11. Working knowledge of Excel, Word, Power Point
