Bamburi Cement, which was founded in 1951 by Felix Mandl, has a rich history in-line with Kenya’s legacy as a growing and highly progressive nation for over half a century.

Our history is an inspiring account of the pioneering spirit and vision of Felix Mandl, who despite experiencing numerous setbacks during and after World War 2, eventually settled in Kenya and set up Bamburi Cement, which became a household brand, an industry leader and a significant contributor to the development of the region.

Bamburi Special Products Limited

Bamburi Special Products Limited is a subsidiary of Bamburi Cement PLC and is the leading supplier of Readymix concrete and Precast concrete blocks with operations in Nairobi and Mombasa.

Incorporated in 1998, Bamburi Special Product is a pioneer in the development of concrete paving solutions and has grown rapidly to become Kenya’s largest supplier of concrete paving blocks for a wide variety of paving applications.

Bamburi group Eco Systems Limited

Bamburi group Eco Systems is the environmental arm and a fully owned subsidiary of Bamburi Cement PLC whose operations are in sustainable land use and quarry rehabilitation.

Dr Felix Mandl – the founder of Bamburi Cement, apart from being a pioneer industrialist was concerned about the need for environmental rehabilitation due to the mining activities.
